Some reading for the holidays...

I'm in mourning today. For a book. It all ended rather abruptly on the Tube on my way to work, a surprise finish and that was it. I seriously urge you to read it - Muriel Barbery's "The Elegance of the Hedgehog". For anyone who has lived in Paris, or even dreamed of it, this book shall serve as a sweet reminder of the subtlety of the French humour. The philosophical musings and beautiful prose seem all the more fragrant when you learn that it is in fact a translation from the French version. There is something decidedly Audrey about the whole thing. And true to the title, elegant is the only word that can possibly sum it up.
